A USB flash card reader is $16 at Computer Geeks. I can live with the slightly larger size and slower transfers rate, in exchange for more RAM, a faster process which will open images infinitely faster once you do copy them. Plus I can enjoy them on a bigger screen, large enough to work comfortably in PhotoShop if needed. Plus since everything is built-in, I no longer have to carry around an external CD-ROM drive, a PC cards for modem, ethernet, FireWire, USB and wireless (AirPort). I can now burn CDs, use DVDs and enjoy a 12" 1024x768 screen. As for your 16GB drive, do what I did with my 18GB Toshiba, install it in a $64 FireWire/USB enclosure from Computer Geeks (actually $58 with there 10% discount code). If you still need SCSI, get a FireWire to SCSI adapter (they're out there but I can't recall brand). As for any other PC Card devices, whatever is left serves a pretty high-end market (video, audio) and those folks would likely be much better off with a TiBook for it's processor power. It has a PC Card slot. BTW, I love the 2400. It's always fun to amaze PC laptop users with older PowerBooks that can still do amazing things. But I also love being a devil's advocate, I just can't help myself (sorry ;^) -makmac ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
