Actually, there was a mini-scandal when it came out that Motorola had sold 
a bunch of buggy LC040s to Apple. Not only does it not have an FPU (by 
design) but there's a bug in it that keeps things like SoftwareFPU and 
other FPU emulation stuff from working. I don't know exactly how to tell 
which were buggy and which were just LCs, but there were some buggy LCs.
