Hello list,

I have just purchased a Farallon Ethermac PCMCIA card for my 2400c.
This is the second card I have purchased. The first Ethermac card was
apparently a dud. I inserted it in the computer and installed the software
that came with it. It immediately mounted onto the desktop, with the proper
icon. The card showed up in all of the control panels that it was supposed
to do so in. The little LED on the dongle even lit up when first inserted.
But that was it. It would not talk to my DSL modem (which is 10BaseT
compliant) nor would it allow me to perform filesharing with my iMac. It
just stubbornly sat there. This card was 'new' and should have worked. The
seller graciously sent me a refund.

My concern now is, will the new card that is currently in the mail work
in my Comet? Am I missing some crucial piece of the setup here? I really
don't want to send another PC card back and I really want to get this
computer back onto my DSL. (I had received a Farallon combo card with this
machine, but the stupid 'SafeJack' broke off...it worked though, and so does
the modem in it now, so it's not the PC Card slots.) Let me know if you can
think of anything.

Nick
