No one has ever been able to determine it, that I know of.

The assumption is all the Japanese /240s came that way, but I've 
don't remember anyone on the list actually having or seen a US mode 
/180 fully CardBus enabled.

If all you're doing is networking you don't need it....get a 16-bit 
Ethernet PC card.

MCE will do it for something like $99 including shipping.  If you go 
that route, most folks suggest you have them add a bigger HD as long 
as they have it open.
