Michael was wondering....

>soon to get the 2400 back up and running. Since I'm new to the list

>options? If I send this pb to DT&T then I'll probably have them add
>a harddrive and cardbus enabled.

MCE is the only outfit I know of that does the CardBus
enablement...but it's becoming more widely known, so it wouldn't hurt
to ask.

> I see people running up to OS 9.1 or 9.2, and I even saw a screen
>shot of someone running OS X from the powerpage.. so what's the max
>ram of the 2400, 96MB, 112MB, or 128MB.?

If it doesn't have 80MB RAM....that is your #1 priority, but can be
done at home...or send the RAM to DT&T to be installed at the same
time.

A 96MB DRAM module is around $400 if Bill Fox can get them. Takes
you to 112MB. http://macsonly.com/home.html Otherwise 80MB is the
usual max.

>How about hard drives?

Buy at least a 20GB via http://www.DealMac.com for $90+ and send it
along to be added at the same time.

>G3 or G4 upgrades?

Rare, usually easier to find a G3 upgraded machine on eBay and then
sell your stock one. No retail offerings. Interware/Vimage G3
preferred due to cooler running copper based processor. Newer G3
runs hotter, but is more commonly found..and less expensive.

>Wireless cards? Others can chime in here.
