Steve
I realize the economics of the real world . This said , schools all over the states
and the world strugle to aquire usable equipment for education, and development of
young minds. It is a shame to think that our tax dollars ,be it Canadian or American,
could be stretched by looking at the bigger picture in casses such as this.
There are people working hard to try to bring this to fruition. And the argument is
always:
Costs too much money
Can't risk national security
no one available in our budget to accomplish this
etc, etc, etc....
I can't even count how many people I know that donate their time and equipment to
better
the educational system as well as help the underpriveelliged get up to speed on the
modern world.
What I am getting at, is that:
Equipment such as this does have an extended use, as you and I know.
There are people who will donate their skills and time to better a situation.
There are ways to implement continuation without loss of security.

The excuse, that there is no profit or feasability involved , basicly puts us in a
situation that can only create a more dept oriented structure to our economy in the
long run . Not to mention the lack of vision in our governmental offices.
To then go and throw money ferther down the road at more expensive and in some
cases, unecessarilly up to date school systems, makes me question the realistic
feasability of the whole excersise.
It was an american president that said "ask not what your country can do for you,
but what you can do for your country". This should apply to government officials as
well and, not just to Joe Average.
Governments have to look at the bigger picture, and not exist only in a self
preservational mind set. This kind of thinking results in stagnant watters that only
fester disease.

That is why I can't accept these excuses.

Time to get off my soap box. {:- )

Cheers
Carlos
