Hello out there,

Three months ago, my sister gave me a PowerBook Duo 210 with dock.
Since then, I found The List (I am a subscriber to Low End Mac and
one day the Duo List was mentioned) and it feels like entering a
strange netherworld as my only previous computer experience was with
a Rev. B iMac.

I am quite impressed with the knowledge, dedication and ingenuity of
the contributors to the list. I have learned some things which have
been useful already and other things which will likely be useful in
the future.

Now that I know something about the Duo series, I purchased a 2300c
with Dock Plus (OK, some of you will say I should have bought a 280).

I have the following questions:

1. The space bar on the 2300c keyboard requires a lot of pressure. If
I want to open the case to try to repair this, am I asking for
trouble? Will fifty small parts go spilling all over the place? Do I
have any hope of correcting the problem?

2. I picked up an Apple Express 14.4 modem for the 2300c. Are there
any tricks involved in installing this? Will installing the Express
preclude my connecting a faster external modem?

p. s. I will be selling the 210 in the near future. If anyone is
interested, let me know.
