>Hello Chuck Goolsbee .

Howdy.

It was soon after the new iBook shipped (so I am pretty sure May is
correct.) My local Apple dealer called me when his first demo unit
arrived, as he knew I was interested in small powerbooks (I bought
both of my 2400c's from him.)

>it helped me get a grasp on the size difference between the two.

That was the point of the exercise. =)

>also love the the pictures of the server rooms at digital forest. I
>apologize if I have misspelt that.

That is correct enough... the official name is 'digital.forest'.

For those that don't know what Carlos is talking about, all the

I did not establish the process, just followed those set out by a
Japanese pioneer by the name of 'doggyfox'... I volunteered to
perform the modification on behalf of the list member 'rlf9', who was
having big problems with overheating. I am very comfortable with the
(dis)assembly of the 2400c, having done many upgrades and
modifications. I did make a few changes to the original Japanese mod,
(mostly a larger sink) but pretty much followed in doggyfox's
footsteps. About halfway through the process 'rlf9' sent me a
different mod to try, but it was one that had some significant risk
and had no way to 'back out of' should something go wrong (it
involved cutting the case, and replacing some of the plastics with
metal pieces... I wasn't feeling up to that one though. Both rlf9 and
I have lost the URL for that one unfortunately.)

The URL to doggyfox's heat page is:
<http://www.ab.aeonnet.ne.jp/~tkishino/Heat.html>
Follow 'link 3' for the final mod.

The pics I took of the similar mod on rlf9's 2400c:

Hope that answers your questions.

if I drop off the list for a while I'm not ignoring you!
