I have a busted up 280c which works but is not capable of continuing it's
portable life. I would like to use it as my printer server, for storage,
and for other duties in my household network. I am using my good 280c for
this purpose now but as it is portable, it is predominatly out of the house
when others need it's network services. I have a spare DuoDock but would
rather not have to have one more monitor on my desk top, too many already.
Is there a way that I can have the 280c docked, with the dock lid removed,
and use the 280c's screen and keyboard? I have tried it but of course
since it is docked, it boots up but it will not allow the LCD screen to
run. Yes I know that the problem can be solved with a minidock but then I
need to buy one, get another power adapter, an external floppy drive,
etc., etc. Why not use the DuoDock that has all of this built in? Is this
possible, is there a hack, am I dreaming? Thanks.
