That is good news! The discontinued Farallon 10/100 Cardbus Ethernet card PN995-TX uses the same chipset. see:
http://www.proxim.com/support/all/consumer/technotes/tn_unsupporteddrivers.html Eugene reported that the Farallon card works with the stock OSX driver: OS 9 crashes upon boot with the card inserted in either slot (on my 2400... i've heard of others having no problems). however, if the card is inserted after boot, the latest drivers from farallon work fine. OS X sees the card as built-in ethernet, and will prompt you when you open the network control panel after first inserting the card and booting into X. the switch reports a 100MB link, though afp performance is pretty laggy, especially on directory listings. Would someone please give the CB81PB a test to see if it indeed works in OSX for a CardBus activated 2400c? Thanks. jake > > Thank you for your inquire. > > The CB81PB is using [DEC 21143] Ethernet controller chip. > This chip company is no longer exist but that chip is supported as [Intel > 21143 Based PCI Fast Ethernet Adaptor] on Microsoft operating system. > > Best > RATOC Systems Inc > URL www.ratocsystems.com ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
