All,

I am trying to understand the complexities of swapping displays between
various versions of the PowerBook Duo and could use some help.

I have a Duo 230 (passive matrix greyscale) with a bad on-board SCSI (I
somehow trashed it during a hard drive swap.). I also have a good Duo 280
motherboard. It is my understanding that the 280 motherboard will not
support the passive matrix display from the 230, correct?

Now, I know where I can get a cheap "parts" Duo 250 (active matrix screen).
If I were to buy it, could I:

1) Can I use the active matrix screen from the 250 with the 280 motherboard?
If so, do I need any extra/different parts/cables?

2) Can I use the motherboard from the 250 with the 230 passive matrix
screen? (My understanding is that this is possible, but I'm mostly
interested in it from the standpoint of building a 230 out of the leftovers
should option 1 be doable.)

Thanks...
