Hmmm all this talk about the external battery packs got me thinking (and digging thru the boxes in the closet) for the one I have. It's made by "BTI" Battery Technology Incorporated and called 'SlimPack' for Duo I bought it (used) because I was going to do some field work in Baja California and would only have power available at night and didn't want to mess with lugging a bunch of extra batteries around. It weighs just over a pound and is roughly 4&1/4 x 10&3/4 x 1/2 in thick. There is a charger for the battery pack that plugs into the side of the Duo PS just like an external battery charger. You charge up the battery pack and then it gets plugged into the Duo (which should have a fully charged battery in place for best performance) just as if the PS was plugged in. This gave me a running time without dimming the screen or spinning down the HD of about 6 hrs with my 280c. It took me a couple of weeks of charging and discharging the Battery pack to get the run time up to an acceptable level but after that it worked great. It hasn't been used in about 18 months so I can't guarantee runtime, but if anyone is interested in buying this I'm open to offer's as I haven't any use for it since I got my Kanga.
