Dear Gurus,
I thank Mr. Rob for his ideas how to wireless network my 280 7.6 to
my iMac 9. but he has overestimated my smarts. I've never used an airport
hookup so I don't understand this. Can someone please break it down into
child-sized infor bites?
"There might be a way, but I'm sketchy on if it would work. There are
some USB 802.11b (read airport) boxes out there that hook up via USB. I
know I've seen some usb -> serial adapters. If there was one from
serial -> USB then you could hook up one of the USB 802 boxes.
Hey here's another idea - if you get a basestation hook that up to the
Duo via a modem in the duo as the destination where the duo is basically
the provider and then airport to the iMac that could work very well
(just plug a phone cable between the two and tell them to ignore the
dial tone and telnet between them. You'd be reduced to 56K speeds, but
that might not be too bad.'
Mr. Robb also mentioned a 5300 screen. Would I replace my duo screen with
this one for sunlight use?
Sorry to be so dumb,
Donald McCaig
