Try a SCSI-mounter such as Mt.Everything or SCSI Probe first. If you can
mount the device this way you might enable the "mount all volumes at
startup" option there. If the HD is not listed in these ctrl panels, it may
need a new driver. Call up HD SC Setup or whatever the Apple drive formatter
is called (according to your OS) and see whether you can actualize the
driver. You may also invoke Apple System Profiler to find out whether the
drive is recognized.
If none of these options proves good you will have to take the lid off the
dock and look for the cabling: power cable to the right (next to the power
supply), SCSI bus in the center back of the board, both leading down into
the lower parts of the dock case which is where you`ll have to look for the
drive and its connectors (means removing the top and the power supply, we`ll
come to that later...)
