Sorry typo I obviously mean 256K Cache.
And yes I'm running in OS 9.1 at the moment - getting OS X to work is a different
question altogether.

Other specs - 80M Ram, 10G disk, card bus enabled, no card inserted when running
normally.
I reckon if I can solve this newer cache issue It'll be a great start. (I did intend
on putting my old 180MHz 603 in but due to a difficult screw on the daughter board I
gave up for another time(Looks like I'll have to drill the thing out if I need to
change it). After I put my comet back together and did a power switch with a
simultaneous hard reboot I was encouraged, after a fairly long pause, to see it boot
into 9.1)

Many thanks

Phil

I have a sick 2400.

I very recently started having problems with startup. Green light of
Death appearing. Only starting if I did a ctrl, Apple, power combination.
I've got a Newer G3 and recently I've been trying to use XFactor to get
OS X on it- unsuccessfully so far. I took the machine apart last night to

see if I could reseat things, everything seemed secure.

Recently it seemed to recover but it's still not well.

Now this is the interesting thing - when it seems to be working and I
bring up the Newer G3 Control The buttons radio buttons don't work and it

comes up with CPU speed / 1. I can't seem to set it. The apple system
profiler detects I have a G3 240 MHz with 245K External Cache. Could this

be a problem with my CPU or has XFactor messed me up. I've tried to clear

the parameter ram but I still can't get control of my cache speed.

Any thoughts anyone?

Philip Miller
