My 280's battery was dead when it arrived and would not take a charge initally. I ran battery recondition three times over the course of a couple of days. The first couple of attempts resulted in no charge being held, and then WHAMMO...I had a working battery. Now I get about 45 minutes with backlighting, and much longer without backlighting.
