No reason why you shouldn't - all LCDs get burn-in, but it's always
temporary. A few hours of a different picture (or none) and the liquid
crystals relax. The Apple through Edit menus are likely candidates for
obvious reasons. I've seen it in many, many cases and it's gotten better in
all of them.

It's possible this is related to the darkening screen corners issue, but I
don't  really think so (it should affect the whole screen then, or at least
affect the menubar area more than the bottom corners). I suspect that
actually has something to do with the state of each pixel's neighbours, as
in a simple 1D or 2D neural network (or the game of Life). The ducks on the
ends have to keep one eye open. ;)
