Hello again fellow Powerbook people:) Sorry for the silence. I have been away for a while. Many thanks to Brandy, Paul Nelson and coccorp for your help.
Now I shall assault you with a dumb question (I have a veritable arsenal of dumb questions, so many in fact, you'd think I was an unwashed XP user). I have in front of me my Macintosh Duo Dock users guide for a Duo Dock 1. In the dock is a Powerbook Duo 230. My question is about modems. I want to know if I do indeed have a built in internal modem. So, I am reading this manual, and it says; 'If your computer has an internal modem, select either internal or external modem in the Powerbook control panel before opening your telecommunications program'. I have done this, and sure enough there is a radio button option within the 'control panels' to select either an internal or external modem. Does this mean that I do indeed have a built-in modem? Its not just a red herring is it? PS: Brandy, I have worked out that the reason there appear to be two modem ports on the back of the Duo Dock is due to the fact that one of them is for connecting an external modem and the other is for connecting some as yet unidentified wire to the internal modem, the other end goes into the phone line, I think. Many thanks for you helpful insights. ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
