Matt,
A floppy can be formatted as a PC diskette on a Mac loaded
with the proper extensions. Under the Finder's "Special"
menu, choose Erase Disk, then choose PC formatting.
Your Duo can use a disk formatted on a PC as long as
you have the appropriate extension(s). Mac Word 5.1
will not be able to read WinWord 97 or WinWord 2000
files from a PC. But going from Mac Word 5.1 to
either of the aforementioned WinWord versions is a
snap -- as long as the diskette is PC formatted to
begin with. So:
1) Format floppy as a PC diskette
2) Save your Word 5.1 files to the PC diskette
3) Send the diskette to your Windows friend.
4) Suggest that your Windows friend surf over
to http://www.apple.com/switch
Best wishes,
Robert
