Dear Listers; I recently inherited the following:
A PB Duo 2300c (40 megs of RAM, OS 8.1 and 8.0, Netscape 4.0.5, Open Transport/PPP 1.0.1, 96k disk cache, Eudora 3.1.3 and 4.2.1.) Six batteries and a two bay charger/power supply. So far only one of the batteries works (a type 1). It will run the computer for about 1 1/2 hours. A Duo MiniDock Five DuoDocks (two of which have hard drives). The hard drive says there are 259 items, 110.4 MB available. I went online with the Duo using an external US Robotics 56K modem and the MiniDock. My only choice for a driver on the Control Panel list was "US Robotics universal". It was painfully s-l-o-w. I downloaded Netscape Communicator 4.8 (in only 3 hours) but I haven't installed it yet. Should I? I'm writing this on my PowerMac 6100/66 (40 megs RAM, OS 8.6, Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, Remote Access.) I have some idea that I would like the Duo to resemble the 6100 (i.e. OS 8.6 or better is required to use Remote Access I think). Do I really want to do this? and if so, how? Input/comments/spiritual and/or technical guidence will be gratefully and humbly appreciated. > > ---------- > Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! > A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables. > FAQ at <http://www.themacintoshguy.com/lists/DuoListFAQ.shtml> > Be sure to visit Mac2400! <http://www.sineware.com/mac2400> > > To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail to > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Need help from a real person?
