Thanks a load for your insightful comments. It gives me a lot to mull over. (Actually my brain is starting to hurt.) I seem not to be able to get the INTERNAL modem to work now. (It did before.) How do I find out what it is? (i.e. Global Village, etc.) Who knows, maybe I've lost the driver from the list somehow. It may not be any faster than using the external 56k USR modem but it sure can't be any slower. If I am going to copy the "High Speed" USR modem driver to the 2300c from the 6100 I'm going to need the proper cable to connect the two. I have a crossover cable but it has phone clip type ends. Won't work on these Macs. What do I need and where can I get it?
