I kind of doubt that it's the hard drive. I used to experience a crash on
wake-up but with just about every incarnation of my 2400. I got into the
habit of spinning down the drive and dimming the screen manually. I don't
know why, but the problem just "went away". Although I have noticed it
happens when I leave certain applications open while sleeping, like Internet
Explorer.
