I would try a PRAM zap before doing all of that, then try rebuilding the Duo 
and the Dock's harddrives. If you haven't already...

The fact that the hard drive AND the floppy from the Dock are not being seen 
would lead me to first consider that the dock has a problem as opposed to your 
Duo and/or its OS. Did Norton "reliably access" the dock HD? Perhaps U need 
to check the Duo's internal connections?

I have used Duos & Docks since they came out, and I have *never* had a 
problem with the FLOPPY not being seen...
