Thanks ! I did confirm with the folks that I bought the display assembly from that the had tested it before shipping. So I was on the same trail that you suggested.

If anyone can point me to the specific fuse on the logic board or power board that feeds the inverter board, I would greatly appreciate it.

Subject: [Duo2400] dark screen

I'm new to the list and am seeking advice. I recently had my machine apart to upgrade the hd and ram. However, when I re-assembled ( no screws left over !) the display was dark. I could see a very faint trace of the desktop and know I was booting.

I purchased another used display and unfortunately get the same
behavior. I had read that perhaps this was due to a bad backlight,
but am hoping the display I purchased was not doa. Any suggestions
would be appreciated.

Russ

It is probably not the backlight itself, but rather the inverter board that
drives it (or the power to the inverter board,) I am not a 2400 owner, but
from other PB's I would suggest that you first check the fuse on the
inverter board (unless the new screen was a complete assembly with inverter)
and then check the fuses on the motherboard (also if you can work out the
pin-out then check that power is getting to the inverter.)
Hope this helps,
Ben.
