Anyway, I had head someone chippig the 2300c to 117 or something by
chipping and it worked. I'll have to dig up that old thread. The gentleman
said that the floppy and everything worked fine. I wish there was a way to
put a G3 into the place of the 603 and then apply some patch to the OS to
see this new CPU. That would be a great upgrade! A G3 300 2300c Duo!

That was the 5300. You can change the position of the set of
resistors that set the bus to CPU ratio. Unfortunately , I never
found the same resistors for the 2300.
THe G3 2300 idea was kicked around a while back, but deemed impossible.
If you could find the bus to CPU resistor set on the 2300 you could
remove the 100 MHz part and replace with a 180 MHz part if you send
it to a pro rework shop.
