I just received the good news, that in the next couple of weeks, ADSL
internet service will be available in my locale. Yay! Christmas has just
come early.

Two options will be available: A two IP address choice with 1.5 Mps
download speed and 512 K upload or a five IP address option with 2.5 Mps
and 640 up. They vary in price between $25 & $40 US respectively.

I already have a small "Class C" peer-to-peer 10T network installed in my
home and run through a 5 port hub.

My "limited" understanding is ADSL uses an ethernet/modem connection and is
always on, like a cable modem. However, the comparison stops there as ADSL
is a dedicated line and won't suffer from any speed degradation as cable
will when more and more users are on the same line/pipe.

Excuse me if this was already discussed... but does anyone have experience
using a 2400 and an ethernet PCMCIA 10T card? Any suggestions? Success
stories etc. All and any info much appreciated.

Thought I would bone up before the installation guy arrives and turns his
nose up at my Apple setup.

My 2400c is running 8.6 and I'm using a Dayna PCMCIA 10T Communicard for
ethernet.

Thanks in advance.

Rod
