Having Virtual Memory off also consumes considerably more RAM which has to be
powered (and there there is less of it to use, even if you have 56 MB). Is this
really an important step towards speeding up the Duo?

Which leads me to my next question (which I've asked before but never got a
response): Why is the 2300 limited to 56MB RAM? What creates this limitation? Is it
the physical size of the RAM card won't fit in the Duo if it's any bigger or some
other technical limitation which I don't understand?

This would be a good solution if somehow the Duo could implement the same technique
as the iBook for storing the contents of RAM to hard disk and starting up from
that. I assume that this is a ROM issue which can never be changed, or is it a PRAM
issue (in which case there is some hope)? Obviously we are all different, but the
startup time it takes to wait for the Duo is unacceptable to use as a PDA. For that
reason, I went out and bought VIRTUAL PC so that I could run the REX PC card
organizer that I bought and only runs on Windows :( -- (since I would mostly need
to carry my Duo around for contacts and schedule). Otherwise, I think the Duo is a
bit too slow and therefore too big to be an effective PDA. Get a Palm Pilot
instead!
