Basically the overheating is not serious problem for the most 2400s,
but it is true that the 2400 tends to get hot on the bottom. Some of
machines had their system become unstable by the heat. Actually
Apple Japan did not recall the PB2400/180. Quick Garage (This is the
famous Apple repairing center in Japan) checked the connection of
the heat sink and the CPU for the people who had the overheating
problem. Sometimes they put a silicone sheet on the CPU.

If there is no problem, you don't have to do anything. However, the
connection between the heat sink and the CPU become looser after
long time usage. You can monitor the CPU temperature with Jeremy's
Temperature CSM. Probably it is no serious problem if it indicates
under 70 degrees Celsius.
