Since you said you just got your 2400 I thought I offer just a note of reassurance that IMHO it's fairly uncommon to crash so badly you need a start-up floppy. The worst it would be is when you would have to start up with all extensions off (hold shift key down while booting (?)) I've yet to crash that badly on my 2400 in 18 months and I crash about 3 -4 times a week thanks to some sloppy computing on my part.
I wouldn't worry about it, just never install another Microsoft product again and you'll be fine <grin>
