The battery contacts inside the bay might be bent. Try to *very gently* bend
them outward. That might solve your problem.

Good luck,

Subject: [Duo] 280c can't tell battery has charge

Hey folks,

I've got a 280c that just won't recognize that a good battery in it has a
charge. The charging 'lightning bolt' appears on the control strip but it
says the battery is emtpy, and it stays saying that forever (well, a while).

So it thinks a battery is there but can't tell that it's charged.

I've reset the powermanager, the system is freshly installed (7.5.5), the
battery and charger are good (tested on my 280).

Ideas? It works fine on the AC adapter, just don't pull it out.

This is a cobbled-together, beatup former 270c and the logic board was
pretty much given to me by someone who was having lots of 'crashes' with
it. So a hardware problem is a big possibility. It's also been previously
taken apart by fumblefingered apes.

When I put the 270 motherboard back in it's fine, by the way.

Mark
