Just to add my observations. I use Netscape 4.05 on an 18MB Duo 230 with
System 7.5.5,
OT 1.1.2 and either OT-PPP or FreePPP (still deciding). Netscape takes a
while to load
but is pretty quick after that (as has been pointed out).
My biggest gripe is that when you print a web page, Netscape reloads the
page from the
Internet before printing it. When you have waited 15 minutes for the page to
load over a slow
modem link this is just not funny. I contacted Netscape about this and they
confirmed it
is a feature. Netscape's argument is that you would always wish to print the
most current
information possible, e.g. if you were printing off stockmarket information.
I would argue
that this is not always the case and you should be presented with a "Reload
before
Printing" preference setting or printing option.
Like others here I am hoping the 68k iCAB will become stable enough to
become my primary
browser.

P.S. Slightly off-topic - I have read that FreePPP is not compatible with
HotLine, however I have
been able to connect to HL servers and trackers using FreePPP. Has the
problem been fixed
or is it more subtle than that?

I use both Netscape 4.x and IE 4.5, because the two browsers are
complementary in their strengths and weaknesses. Some observations:
1. Copying and pasting text from Netscape is generally more predictable
than from IE. I do this a lot so it's a big factor for me.
2. Cache management in Netscape is horrible if any content is dynamic
(i.e. using the Back and Forward buttons). Playing with a RAM disk or
memory caching helps a bit, but it's much better in IE 4.x.
3. New browser windows generally come up faster in Netscape.
4. But if you resize a Netscape window, it reloads the entire page
(why??!). In IE, a window resizes without downloading anything, as it
should be.
5. Neither apparently supports full drag and drop of text, like iCab
does/will. But IE supports dragging a URL onto the desktop (and it
becomes a web address as it should).
