I picked up one of those Newer pseudo-docking things for my 2400 a while back when they we're 40 something dollars. I use it at work and decided to run it on an old duo power brick we had lying around ... and before you ask... sorry folks, no old Duos lying around! They all died. I had hoped that Newer would have incorporated a power unit into the pseudo-dock, but no such luck. One of the whole reasons I love the 2400 (and one of my frustrations with the Duo actually) is that I hate to carry a lot of extra stuff around and I would have loved to leave my little power brick at home. I already have three of the little AC cords that I leave everywhere I might want to plug in. Anyway I have not noticed any battery-related weirdness like you describe. The lower amped Duo brick will recharge my battery when the battery is in the 2400. For some weird reason... maybe because I know they are so damn expensive and hard to find... I remove my fully charged battery from the 2400 if I am on AC. I don't know if I am doing anything to extend my battery's life by doing this. -chuck goolsbee ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
