Sure. Easier said than found. You can also just add VRAM and an ethernet card
to your existing board.

I have a LaCie 4.8 Gig SCSI drive in my dock, purchased last year. No
problems. No need for a drive mount, everything you need is there already or
comes with the new drive.

I think the floppy drive flap is on the drive itself (anybody?), so you'd need
a drive with the flap. Actually, I have a flap on my 6500 and my drive is
filthy. The flap does very little toward keeping it clean. Most of the dust
comes from circulating inside the machine via the air vents. If Apple supports
swapping the 1.4MB with the 120MB on any of their existing computers,
probably. I assume the new drive has a driver for the internal floppy disk
bus. If so, you might have to only modify the connector, which is simple
enough with the pin out info from Apple's TIL.

Exactly, they should have turned it sideways and included a CD-ROM and put the
floppy drive in the front where it belongs. If I were you, I would plan to run
that 120MB floppy drive of yours outside the case so you can get at it like
normal people. Just customize the cable and run it through the floppy drive
slot. I'm going to do that with my external Duo 1.4 floppy drive.
