Hi there,

I have to choose between the original Apple Express Modem and a GV
PowerPort/Mercury for the 2300c, so I'm wondering... which one should
I keep? ;-)

Both can get up to 14400bps, the 19200bps Trellis mode of the GV is
pretty useless nowadays. What about processor usage? The Express
Modem is more or less a software modem, where the Duo has to do most
of the work. Is the GV one more intelligent, or the same kind of dumb
modem HW?

I'd also like to use it with a MiniDock. Does the MiniDock contain an
own modem circuit (this little module) or are the modem lines of the
Express Modem in the Duo just connected to the plug in the MiniDock?
If there is only a pass-through in the Mini Dock, does it also work
with the GV modem?
