Someone has raised the issue of upgrading the 2300c HD with a slim
drive (12mm) instead of 17mm due to the possibility of lack of
contact of the slimmer drive with the CPU stiffener, which should
otherwise act as a heat sink.

Does anyone have any feedback on this?
