I'm not certain but didn't the "Plus" have the AAUI Ethernet connection built in,
whereas it was an option on the "II"?

I don't know about the 2300, but when I got my 280c, I had all kinds of problems
with the "II", until we upgraded it to a "Plus". So, I would assume the same to
be true of the 2300.
