Hi All,

I recently tried using a USB Cardbus card in my 2400. I bought the card
for a G3 Series machine, but tried it out in my 2400 with the latest
Apple USB development kit and it works! I've successfully used a USB
mouse and GamePad Pro (using the shareware USB Overdrive). The only
problem I've encountered is getting the 2400 to recognize the card after
it's removed and then reinstalled. It shows up on the desktop like
normal, but nothing attached to it works.

I haven't tried any other peripherals, but I plan on taking the 2400 to
visit some friends with an iMac equipped with USB Printer, SuperDisk,
Zip, Scanner, Joystick, Smartmedia Reader, and other goodies.

For those interested, here are the details on my setup:

Standard 2400c/180 stuffed with 80 MB of RAM. Serial #157390CDAJN.
Purchased new in May '98.
USB Card: PCally CardBus to USB adapter (for Windoze '98). Part #UH276P

PCally is the dark side of popular Mac peripheral maker Macally.
Supposedly this card is identical to what their Mac product will be
except for the drivers. This particular card does not pull power from
another port (ie. keyboard on the PC or ADB on the Mac).

Now, my question for the List: I've got a new drive and a G3 upgrade I'll
be installing in this machine. I'd like to go ahead and replace the
little metal "bubble" clicker switch while everything is apart. Anyone
know a source for these switches? I pulled a similar bubble switch off of
a damaged Jaz drive, but installing it in the 2400 is going to require
some modification. I'd rather have the real part.

Thanks for your help and have fun with your 2400s!
