I'm doing that all the time. Some weeks ago I bought another SE/30 
because I knew one of my friends  wanted one, too. So I got it and 
mixed it with my own SE/30. I don't know how often I swapped the 
tubes (and their coils), analog boards, power supplies, fans, 
chassis', cases etc. till I finally found the best combination ;-)
