When the temp of my 2300 gets 114 or above (while in the Dock), I take the battery out. That usually drops the temp by at least 5-10 degrees. Right now, without the battery, I am at 104. I do not think the higher temps hurt the machine but I like the lowewr temps for my own peace of mind. A few weeks back I requested responses about modem connection speeds for 2300s docked with external modems. There was univeral response that the serial port connection speed max is 57.6k even when the modem script calls for higher rates. The highest modem connection rate reported was 52k. For those of us who have never seen modem connection rates above 28.8k despite the modem rating, it appears there is a problem with the local telephone service. Thanks to all who choose to participate. Has anyone had a good experience with a DSL provider (in the Los Angeles area) and higher that 57.6k connection rates for a docked 2300? I have a need for speed but would like to know what the experience of others has been before investing the money. As always, TIA. Bill ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
