Do you mean that you're using the Express modem through the passthrough
modem port on the Dock? If it's behaving differently depending on where the
phone cord is plugged, the probable culprit is the physical connector that
it plugs into (ie. the jack on the Duo has gone flaky). Try checking that
the little pins inside are clean and not bent out of shape.
