I read an article about six months ago about several brands of all-terrain
laptops (Wintel, of course) that are made for outdoor work. They aren't
just military, but are for people like police, rescue, civil engineering,
just general outdoor work. There is one that is even supposed to be water
proof. They are designed to withstand the G forces encountered in a fall
from a car hood. I don't recall if they had titanium cases, but they were
certainly beefy, and they cost about $5000 each.

Still interested?

One wonders how anyone can produce a hard drive that would withstand a fall
from a car hood while spinning.
