Subject: Re: 2300 HD and OS
Hi All,
I just got my hands on a 2300c and the HD went out.
Finding 2.5" IDE drives is not that difficult. My
question is what do I need to know when buying one. I
know that the holes are different.
What OS are people using with their 2300? I have 7.6,
8.1 and 8.5 here but cannot decide which one to use.
TIA,
ShaneW >>
Be aware. I had the original HD replaced in my 2300 (by a "professional")
using a Toshiba IDE drive. I was never able to hook it up via the SCSI cable
again. If this matters to you be carefull about this. There are IDE drives
that work just fine and, apparently, some that don't. In all other respects
it works fine, and has even lasted longer than the original.
