I have decided to sell my beloved 2400c PowerBook. I am the original owner and it has
been the best portable I've owned. (Five and counting after a Powerbook 100 and three
Duo's: 230, 280 & 2300.)

Thought I would first offer "my baby" to my favourite group, the DuoLister's, before
going the classified/eBay route.

Here comes the sales pitch:

This PowerBook 2400c is in absolutely, immaculate showroom condition. No dead pixels.
Completely trouble-free. It has a fully transferrable, extended warranty good until
June 10, 2001. The warranty covers everything with no deductions or hidden costs.
Obviously, it is an insurance policy I've never had to use. (The best kind.)

I decided not to upgrade this PowerBook to G3 status and in retrospect am happy I
didn't. Admittedly, this isn't any sort of scientific survey, but there now appears to
be a pattern that has developed regarding many of the upgraded G3 2400's. The many
published problems seemingly related to the increased heat of the G3 appears to
contribute in errant and unexplained shut-downs, the dreaded... solid green light and
generally, in just the number of G3 boards that have needed to be swapped out and
replaced. It is too bad Vimage left the table with their excellent and "cool" G3 320
MHz copper upgrade. (Just a "personal" observation gleaned from this list, folks.)

I am selling because I have two Mac systems and only one pair of hands. The 2400 is my
second machine and because it has seen only occasional use, I can no longer justify in
keeping it.
