To all the techies out there...

Here's the deal.

Of my two PowerBooks, two years of faithful service, now refuses to
startup past the Happy Mac logo. Startup process seems quite normal
with all the right sounds, until the Happy Mac where all activity
stops, 'cept for the continuing spinning of the hard drive.

  - Have of course tried unsuccessfully the full armoury of
startup-key combinations - several times without success
(extensions off, powermanager resets, PRAM zaps, even
forcing attempts to boot from an external.

  - Have tried to access the machine in SCSI mode, too, but
fear Password Security was on at the time.

Seem to remember recent mention on the list of the sequence of events
involved in the booting process. What's stopped at the Happy Mac?
(I'd check through the past postings but their IN the other
machine... :(

Any help appreciated.

Marc
