Jake Luck pointed out last night that the PB 2400 PRAM battery is 
apparently NiMH.  He, and I, both vaguely remember reading something 
about the PRAM battery being charged by the system somehow (although 
I thought it was charged by the main battery rather than the power 
adapter.)

Do any of you know *why* this battery is a NiMH and not a standard 
lithium or alkaline battery?  It's a really dumb place to *put* a 
part that has to be replaced....
