They are not cavemen, they are just techie's trying to push a
technology through what has been traditionally a 'utilities' space.
They can't roll out service anywhere without the consent of every
little 'burg's city council. This takes much time. Seattle & San
Francisco were easy, tech savvy areas to install. The rest of their
deployments have proven to be politically very difficult.
Their networks are up and running in FAR more places than they
advertise (becuase they don't have FULL coverage) as they light up
the net as they deploy. I always have my ricochet with me and I
always make it my first connection attempt everywhere I travel, and
occasionally it works... and frequently in a place where they have
not promised coverage until 2001.
