Thanks to those people who have reponded already - one thing this 270 doesn't 
have is an internal modem, unfortunately - how easy is it to get hold of 
these things now?  I was astonished to find how fast and reliable the little 
modem is, in my other 270.  I do occasionally have a look on eBay and 
similar, but don't think I have ever seen a modem for sale on its own.

Also, does anyone know the pin-outs (if that is the right expression) for the 
duo batteries?  It might help to diagnose the problem battery I have here, 
which routinely crashes whichever Duo I try it in (so cannot recondition it, 
etc)
