Follow-up Comment #1, bug #19989 (project duplicity):
Just a workaround - as this sorting is a common problem (not just for
`duplicity') sometimes I use my `sortn' - which sorts the lines in the way RPM
compares the names/versions.
http://cvs.jankratochvil.net/viewcvs/nethome/bin/sortn?rev=HEAD
$ ls -lf `ls|sortn`
duplicity-full.2007-12-24T17:31:29+02:00.vol1.difftar.gpg
duplicity-full.2007-12-24T17:31:29+02:00.vol2.difftar.gpg
...
duplicity-full.2007-12-24T17:31:29+02:00.vol9.difftar.gpg
duplicity-full.2007-12-24T17:31:29+02:00.vol10.difftar.gpg
duplicity-full.2007-12-24T17:31:29+02:00.vol11.difftar.gpg
