Follow-up Comment #13, patch #6353 (project duplicity):

As the original plan outlined there is more to do in terms of changing
backends to be thread-safe (and other parts of the code), but I definitely
think that if anything it's best to do these things somewhat incrementally and
not dump it all into a single release. So I'm treating that as a future
development path rathern than being a left-over TODO on this item.
