When using projectx (which is the only alternative to dvbcut) you always get 
elementary streams. 
I always used mplex on them and never had problems with sync. I think projectx 
writes the 
elementary streams in such a way, that sync isnt a problem any more. I expect 
dvbcut to 
do basically the same.
